How can I make a PC make less noise?

There are several ways to accomplish this.
1. The power supply.
There are special low noise models available.
These are generally high quality and feature a temperature controlled 120mm cooling fan.
Most of the noise associated with a Power Supply is produced by the fan.
The 120mm fans provide equally as much cooling by spinning at a lower speed as the smaller high speed fans do.
2. The CPU cooler
There are many different CPU coolers on the market, make sure you have the best quality one you can find, preferably fitted with a temperature controlled fan.
3. Case fan
When you fit a fan in the case, make sure it’s a ball bearing fan of the best quality you can find and again the best option is to have the it temperature controlled if possible.
Most PC Cases have the option of mounting an 80mm fan and some can take a 120mm fan. If you have the option, use the 120mm fan as this will work just as well but at a lower speed, reducing the noise.
4. Sound proofing the Case.
Special sound insulating material is available that can be glued to the inside of the PC Case.
This can be quite expensive and also reduce the cooling inside the Case.
This option is not recommended by Server Case UK.
