Small Customisations

Published by Richard Parry on 17th Sep 2018

We were approached by an International University, looking for a 2U durable and secure product which they could customise.

The customer liked the look of our Logic Case SC-23400-2 model but wanted to make minor modifications to suit their requirements.

The chassis were going into an education environment where security and longevity was high on their wish list.

Our solution was to base a simple OEM on the chassis the customer wanted but making the following amendments;

  1. Change the background of the stencil that goes on the power button/LED/USB area. This was purely cosmetic to aid with visibility and ease of use.
  2. Change the plastic 5.25” drive bay blanks to metal. This would add the level of security needed to stop unwanted tampering.
  3. Change the power button to red.

From order placement we manufactured 170 chassis by our Chinese OEM manufacturer and delivered to the customer in the USA within 3 months.

Within this timescale, as with all OEM projects, we built in the ability for our own technicians to do full quality control. This involved checking all chassis to ensure uniformity and that all requested OEM adjustments were present and correct.

Our customer was very pleased with the results and is already discussing future orders.
