Latest Xeon E-2100 Motherboards Available from Asus

We're really pleased to announce the latest Asus Xeon-E compatible motherboard range is now available to buy from Server Case UK.

The new P11C range of boards replace the existing P10S range, which have been around for a while. The P10S range is our most popular range of standard and micro atx Xeon compatible motherboard range.

Fortunately, the new P11C range almost directly mirrors the P10S range, with the same layouts, same connectivity and can be an almost direct swap – The existing DDR4 RAM will be compatible in the new P11C range (although we recommend using 2666MHz RAM for the new Xeon-E CPUs).

The biggest change of course is the new CPU compatibility. The new P11C range support the following CPUs;

• Intel Xeon E-2100 Family
• Intel Core i3 (8^th Gen, Coffee Lake)
• Intel Pentium (8^th Gen, Coffee Lake)
• Intel Celeron (8^th Gen, Coffee Lake)

This does mean that the current Xeon E3-1200 V6 Series CPU is no longer supported.

Currently (as of writing this article), the Xeon E-2100 range has yet to be fully released into UK distribution, but as soon as they are we will be listing these CPUs on our site for purchase.

These motherboards still use the same Socket 1151, so existing 115X CPU coolers will be fully compatible.

A few added benefits of the new motherboards are;

• 12Gbps SAS/SATA Support on selected boards with HD MiniSAS connections
• Increased video RAM (from 32MB to 64MB)
• All but the ITX board now support dual M.2 drives, with RAID support
• USB 3.1 (Type A) sockets with 10Gbps speeds supported
• New ASUS Control Centre for IPMI Remote access

The upgrade path for the existing P10S range is as follows;

• P10S-C/4L > P11C-C/4L
• P10S-V/4L, P10S-X > P11C-X
• P10S-M-DC > P11C-M/4L
• P10S-I > P11C-I
