YouTube Video Review - Chenbro RM23608

We've just uploaded our first ever YouTube video - a video review of a Chenbro RM23608 server chassis based server solution for a custom of ours. The chassis used was a Chenbro RM23608, which is a fantastic mid-range 2U chassis. It has 8x 3.5" hot-swap bays compatible with SATA and SAS hard drives. The backplane is 6Gbps with 8x discrete connections for connection to a suitable motherboard or RAID controller. The motherboard used in the example was a Supermicro X9SCL+ running with a cost effective i3 CPU. Although not pictured, all drive bays were populated with 8x 2TB Western Digital RED Drives, giving the customer 16TB of storage pre-RAID overhead. No RAID card was used in this system as the customer was going to fit their own LSI 9260 controller. Also fitted were 2x 320GB Western Digital 2.5" Scorpio Black drives fitted on easy-swap brackets mounted under a metal plate at the front of the chassis. These drives were connected to the onboard RAID and are RAID 1 mirrored for the OS. Fitted in the chassis is our Chenbro C2W-5620V, a 620W dual redundant PSU, allowing a PSU to fail and be easily hot-swapped with a replacement.
