ProMedia Carbon is file-based video transcoding software for the conversion of media into the widest range of acquisition, editing, broadcast, web and mobile formats currently available. Carbon system scales to match requirements is flexible enough to grow to support an automated multi-node transcoding farm under the control of Workflow System (WFS). ProMedia Carbon includes an open and free API that allows custom workflows or close integration with 3rd party applications. 

ProMedia Carbon handles a number of critical operations including SD/HD conversion, PAL/NTSC conversion, logo insertion, colour space conversion, colour correction, close captioning extraction and more. ProMedia Carbon allows high-performance, scalable and cost-effective transcoding for a broad range of production environments, from studios to large corporate and enterprise level installations.

For large transcoding tasks, multiple ProMedia Carbons can be configured as a transcoding farm, under the control of Carbon Workflow System

XML-based SDK
ProMedia Carbon can be controlled directly from an XML-based SDK provided free of charge with the software. Every aspect of the transcoding process can be controlled by the SDK, including source/target destinations, transcoding parameters, filtering, compositing, ad insertion, titling, and notifications, etc.
