Excellent case that is nearly perfect for my needs. As other reviewers note, there is minimal air flow over the hard drives, even when the 4x80mm fan wall at the front of the case is fully populated. And if youre installing 4 drives or fewer, know that both backplates need power for the drives to be seen. But - airflow over drives aside which I knew before purchase, its a great wee case and the customer support from ServerCase was top notch.

Short depth, and design is awesome. worked great for me. a few thoughts that left me with a 3star. keep in mind mine shipped from UK to US.. the box looked fine but possible something got moved bent shipping alone makes it unreasonable to ask for replacement with the annoyances ive found. 1. the case cant be opened if a 3.5 drive is in bay1 the spring clip cant be depressed enough without popping out the drive to remove the top 2. unable to use 2.5 drives. this is more prevalent in the first 4 bays top 4 bay1, Tthe sata connector doesnt line up perfectly and nearly impossible to get it to seat in bay 1 and 4. also a mark against 2.5 drives the screws protrude just enough below the drive they get hung on the case frame between the top and bottom bays making it impossible to remove the drive without prying the framework down slightly to get it to release. i had to get 2.5 drive adapters to 3.5 to avoid this problem 3.more misaligned bays. bay 1 and bay 3 were not perfectly aligned it takes some wiggling to get drives to seat. issue for both 2.5 and 3.5 drives 4 this had no bearing on the star decision, but if going from the HD SAS header directly to your mobo vs a SAS controller. make sure to get a reverse breakout not a forward one. I would with no doubt buy another one of these though. One of the best thought out chassis ive researched in a while. international shipping was fast and customer support regarding pre-sales support was great

A great case for a small storage server if you have limited rack depth. Full front air filter is a nice touch, there are a couple of downsides to this you should be aware of though 1. Full height PCIe cards can be hit and miss - I planned to install a GTX1050Ti in mine 21cm8 long card, not massive by any means and this was just too long to fit due to the drive bays. No issue with low profile cards though. 2. Airflow - Other than the two rear 80mm fans, it appears it may be possible to install a few more 80mm fans under the drive cage at the front, but not straightforward. However, with this huge open space under the drive bays at the front, very little - if any - airflow is directed across the drives when installed. If you have high speed drives or high ambient temps, this can be problematic and may require some lateral thinking to overcome. All in all, still a good case for the money.
